People here, people there,
People going everywhere.
Not many of us stand still,
But act like on a treadmill.
We rush about to solve this,
Then dash there to fix that.
On and on the bustle goes,
Heading to – heaven knows!
We move with great speed,
Yet hardly seem to achieve.
What we want from living,
Seems out of our reaching.
So how can we fix this mess,
I struggle too, I must confess.
Yet some have it all together,
With the odd ruffled feather.
The way to fix this kerfuffle,
Look back to basic survival.
Food, water, shelter and clothes,
Are the necessities - we knows.
But how do we avoid strife,
Putting this back in our life?
For what we have - be content,
Without any pining or lament.
Take time out to sit and rest,
And exercise with the best.
Always live within our means,
Be kind to others, never mean.
