Yes, family and friends are precious at this time of year. However, under the current circumstances may it not be nicer to reduce the money spent on them to give to someone who has lost everything. Not just second hand or surplus items that you might have – but dig into your pocket and buy them something new.
I am well aware that a lot of people don’t like to give to charity funds due to the large amounts of money that the running of these funds take out – I am one of them. But why not find someone – just one family that you might know, a relative, friend of a friend, someone you heard of – and make this a special time for them.
Let the Christmas spirit be spread far and wide, bringing hope and cheer to places that haven’t seen it in a long while. Enable people who have suffered so much to actually have and happy new year!
In bringing happiness to someone who is going through so much you will in turn bring happiness to yourself.
Jesus said - Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me!! (Matthew 25:40)
I sincerely hope that all those that read this post have a happy Christmas and a safe New Year.
Until next year – remember, safety first!
