I was talking with a friend recently and we were discussing God’s leading in our lives. We marvelled at how many times things happened that we could not understand, but later saw God’s leading. We also saw the blessing of helping others and how that kindness comes back. After this conversation I wrote this poem –
Do you ever hear God’s call to action?
Dear friend, what is your reaction?
Do you listen and obey to whatever He may say,
Or ignore Him and continue with your day.
The prophet Isaiah heard God’s call,
Asking for someone to give their all.
Without hesitation or thoughts to flee,
Isaiah said firmly, “Here I am, send me.”
But how do we know when it’s God’s call,
Or if it is Satan wanting us for fall.
If you know your Bible the answer is clear
Just ask, “What would Jesus do if He were here?”
However, there are times in our everyday life
When people ask for help when they are in strife.
To lend a helping hand to those who are in need
Is just what our Lord would do, indeed.
Whatever we do for a friend or neighbour,
We really do for our wonderful Saviour.
How many blessings do we miss out on,
Because we are too busy to help someone.
So the next time someone requests assistance
Do not resist with strong persistence.
But rather do whatever you can and believe
That a blessing one day, you too will receive.
